At Hankai Academy, we aim to provide a seamless and transparent admission process tailored to help prospective students and their families make informed decisions. We welcome families to explore our programs and facilities through our Open Day, which is held every two to three months. The Open Day is an integral part of our admissions process and provides a unique opportunity for students and parents to experience the Hankai way of learning.

What Happens During Open Day?
Families are greeted warmly by our admissions team upon arrival. Students and parents complete a short registration process and receive a schedule outlining the day’s activities.

02. Demo Lessons for Students
Students participate in one to two interactive demo lessons in various subjects, such as Mathematics, Science, English, and Digital Media. These lessons are carefully designed to reflect our dynamic teaching methods, engaging curriculum, and focus on real-world applications.Purpose: These sessions allow students to immerse themselves in our classroom environment, meet our teachers, and explore their interests.
03. Parent Academic Conference
While students attend demo lessons, parents are invited to an academic conference hosted by our school leadership team. Topics covered include:
1. An overview of Hankai Academy’s IGCSE, A Level, and IFD programmes.
2. Insights into our teaching philosophy and emphasis on holistic education.
3. Information on extracurricular activities, personalised learning paths, and college preparation services.
4. A guided Q&A session where parents can address specific concerns or queries with our academic and admissions staff.

Families are taken on a guided tour of our state-of-the-art campus, including:

After the demo lessons, students undergo diagnostic tests in three areas:
● Mathematics: Evaluating problem-solving skills and numerical aptitude.● English: Assessing comprehension, grammar, and communication abilities.● Psychology: Measuring cognitive skills, adaptability, and critical thinking.06. Individual Interviews:
Each student participates in two personalized interviews:
● With a local Chinese teacher: Focused on academic goals and cultural understanding.● With a foreign teacher: Assessing English proficiency, confidence, and global perspectives.
These interviews help our team better understand the student’s strengths, aspirations, and alignment with Hankai’s values.
Post-Open Day: Next Steps
Once the Open Day concludes, the admissions team carefully reviews all aspects of the student’s participation, including their performance in:

Our admissions office promptly contacts successful candidates, usually within a week, and provides the next steps for enrollment. Families are also offered support in completing any additional documentation required for the admissions process.
